Petitessen
(Role models, black holes and other petitessen)
Galerie Mark Müller, Zürich, CH
2014
––––
The exhibition brings together various works from diverse times – and spaces.
Simple materials generate the substance for this piece. The script was created in collaboration with a scalpel and felt pens. Participating in various roles are: Lego bricks, men’s suits and paper rolls, school bags and the finest porcelain, waste paper, revision flaps and several national galleries.
Offered, in addition to a journey to the moon in 64 acts, metamorphoses and art pieces of various origins. Concrete, abstract and figurative elements appear and disappear – black and white meets strong color. Fabric entrusts itself to gravity, while shoe works provide grounding and time materializes while drinking tea. There is not only one, but several round things. Some roll, others materialize as holes in the respective fabric. Cuts and cutouts of various formats grant never imagined vistas while labyrinthine architectures bear witness to homeless superheroes. Negotiated are numbers and narratives, change and counterfeit, diverse attachments and enclosures, trivia, hoodies and comedy. The universe slumbers in the banal, waiting for the gong. The artist pupates and has nothing more to add.
The exhibition is performed without intermission in the format 1:1.7 and runs in the rental of the gallery Mark Müller.
